Attendance Policy: There is no "attendance requirement" for the course. However you are not attending if you do not complete your assignments on time. Grades are reduced for late submissions. See the late Work Policy below.
Late Work Policy:
WHEN ARE ASSIGNMENTS DUE?
Generally work is due at noon on Sunday Noon (not midnight). However, there are some assignments that have interim dates (like discussion boards or require two or more postings on different days. Those requirements are listed in each assignment. You will get reduced points for missing an interim date.
No work is accepted beyond the last due date of the course.
HOW DO I ASK FOR AN EXTENSION?
For most assignments if you notify me in writing (via email), before the assignment due date that you will not be able to hand in an assignments on time we can set a new due date and you are eligible for full credit. I will respond to your email and you must reference my permission email in your assignment submission. The notification is up to you. I do not keep a record of permission except as an email and will mark it late if you don't remind me.
CAN I GET AN EXTENSION ON ANY ASSIGNMENT?
Certain assignments cannot be extended. This includes all Discussion Forums which are considered group work and Exams. Other work will be marked in the assignment if it cannot be handed in late.
If you do not notify me but you hand in the assignment late, I will accept eligible work for partial credit. HOWEVER...In either case no extension is given or work accepted for credit beyond the end of the week following the original due date. I will provide feedback but not a grade.
WHY DID I GET ONLY "1 point" for my grade?
I will attempt to get work back to you with comments before the end of the following week and always before your next assignments are due. If there is an issue with the assignment I often post "1" point as the grade and ask you to correct something or provide additional information. If that occurs you have one week after the posting to correct the issue to have the work accepted as on time. If you are doing "the work of the course" you should catch it as soon as the work is graded with "1 point"
No work is accepted beyond the last due date of the course.
Grading Turnaround Time:
All completed assignments will be graded no later than seven days from the submission date, and sooner when possible.
