Course Policies
Attendance Policy:
You need to complete one assignment besides your self introduction by the last day to receive a refund, if you don't want to be dropped from this course. Each student is expected to be active in the course each week. You should log into the course site at least three times a week and check announcements. If I observe that you have not been active during any given week of the course, (this includes discussion participation and assignment submission), you may be dropped from the course.
Late Work Policy:
Any assignment completed within one week of the due date will be graded but you will lose 10 points if an assignment is late. Assignments submitted over a week will not be graded. All assignments and exams must be completed no later than the last day of the course. No assignments will be accepted after the last day of the course.
Discussion Policy
Following the due dates and responding promptly is an essential part of your participation in online collaborative activities. Your classmates depend on you to complete these activities. Please submit your original discussion posting as early in the due week as possible so other students can comment on your posting. You need to submit substantial comments on at least two other student postings to receive the full points for the discussion assignment. It will take a concerted effort on the part of each student to move discussions forward in a timely manner. Therefore, please make sure to follow the due dates indicated in the Course Summary section of the Syllabus to complete these activities.
Communication Policy
You are required to treat your instructor and classmates with respect. We all have different opinions on issues that may spark emotion. Whatever your opinions are, you MUST respect others' opinions and treat each other professionally and politely in the online course. Comment on opinions, not on the person. This policy applies to all discussion posts and emails for the course. Please follow the communication netiquette in the Welcome/Getting Started module.
Assignment Submission
You are expected to retain an electronic copy of all work submitted. If transmission of the work fails, you are expected to "resend" the document. Assignments will be submitted in Canvas either through Discussion Board forum postings and via the Assignment feature. You are expected to verify your own Canvas responses by returning to the appropriate place in Canvas after the work has been posted.
Grading Turnaround Time:
All completed assignments will be graded no later than seven days after the due date if not sooner.
