1st Generation College - First-generation college students face many challenges, and you should know you are not alone. Whether you’re a recent high-school graduate or an adult learner who has been out of the classroom for decades, Tidewater Community College has support systems to help you succeed.

Open Door Program - Open Door Project students come from disadvantaged backgrounds, and are often first-generation college students. Offered on the Norfolk and Portsmouth campuses, this federally-funded program helps students with academic performance while providing support services to keep them in school.

The Community Feed - The Community Feed is a mixed-use space providing healthy food options and a partner workspace for learning sessions related to root causes of food insecurity. A TCC partnership with the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore. The Community Feed at MacArthur Center allows TCC students to access healthy food and eventually build collaboration among students and connectivity to resources aimed at holistically addressing root causes of food insecurity: lack of access to higher education, employment, housing, healthcare and financial literacy.

Veterans Services - Being a part of the US Military is a great honor and we thank you for your service! Navigating forms and getting connected with benefits and career support can be a challenge. TCC has an entire center dedicated to our military with resources in support of our beloved military. Please be sure to check out what we offer.

Technology Support & Services

ID Office/Process (Storm Dollar Use) - Don’t forget your student ID card, also known as your StormCard! You must display your student ID at all times while on campus. Students are eligible to obtain a card 1 to 2 business days after registering for classes.
